Premarital Counseling

According to a March 2015 article on CNN Money, couples spent an average of $30,000 on their weddings last year.  Needless to say, weddings have become an investment! And it’s not simply a financial investment.  Plenty of blood, sweat and tears go into researching, trying on, trying out and planning for such a special event. But what about after the wedding day is over?  Are you planning for a day or a lifetime?

If you’re engaged or about to be engaged, I strongly encourage you to consider premarital counseling. Premarital counseling consists of a marriage assessment, personality assessment and 8 individualized sessions where we’ll develop how to keep a marriage healthy and thriving for a lifetime.

Don’t settle for planning for a single day without attention to the marriage that awaits after the wedding is over. Start your marriage relationship on a healthy note from the very beginning. Contact me now to setup your first premarital session.

Marriage Counseling

Marriage is not a sprint–it’s a marathon.

There will be times when you experience a runner’s high–things are going great, and you feel like you could do this forever.  You’re enjoying the run, and nothing can stop you.

There will also be times of exhaustion, where you feel like you just can’t go on another step, much less another mile.  There will be times where the pain you’re experiencing is so bad that it tells you to give up altogether.

Yet, the rewards of finishing this race–of enjoying a healthy marriage for a lifetime–are worth the ups and downs.

If you’re seeking marriage counseling, you should be aware of two things. First, there is hope. No matter how bad things may seem, there is always hope for healing and restoration. Second, don’t fall for the lie that only couples on the brink of divorce go to counseling. On the contrary, many times couples have several things that are already working well–they just need help adding to those strengths already in place.

Whether you’re in a time of crisis in the marriage, or you’re simply wanting to work on some fine-tuning, reach out now to make a first appointment.

Family Counseling

A family is a team, and each person on the team plays a vital role in its success.  As with any team, there are so many qualities that comprise a healthy one: a clear vision, good communication, follow through, and unity just to name a few.

As the name suggests, family counseling incorporates the entire family in sessions, seeking solutions that focus on the family as a whole.

I value joining alongside your family as we explore what brings you into the office.  Is your family struggling with communication? Has the family been through a difficult season of life?  Has an event occurred that has impacted the family in a negative way?  No matter the reason, I look forward to helping your family function as a healthy team, clarifying roles and ways you can be your best family together. Contact me now to learn more about family counseling.
